We choose to own a dog, the dog has no choice. Something to think about.

Whatever the breed - the needs are still the same.
Dogs need to be dogs. They need to bark, play, mix with other dogs, run free off lead and chew sometimes.
All these things are necessary to both their physical and psychological wellbeing.
They also need education and boundaries. Barking should never be excessive. Playing should be only with acceptable toys provided by and when the owner chooses. Off lead exercise can only be allowed when the dog has a reliable recall and in a safe area. Chewing should only be with chosen treats or articles specifically designed as chew toys.
People choose to have a dog for many different reasons and the benefits of dog ownership can be immense. However if we don't educate and train them from the start the problems can easily outweigh the pleasures. Thousands of dogs each year are rehomed or abandoned because of problem behaviours most of which could have been avoided if the owners had a little more understanding of their dogs needs.
Dogs aren't malicious and don't do things just to annoy us. If they are displaying any kind of unacceptable behaviour it is usually because we as owners are doing something wrong.
